Taking Sides in the Middle East

I just enjoyed reading this great article, Taking Sides in the Middle East, by Burt Prelutsky, a humor columnist and a film critic in Los Angeles (and wrote scripts for many TV series, check out his bio).

Excerpt:

I want that to be perfectly clear so that when I declare my concern for Israel, nobody will simply assume it’s because I’m Jewish.  I am on the side of Israel because it’s a western democracy, an ally of America, and because I regard her enemies to be our enemies, people dedicated to our mutual annihilation.

Israel’s foes believe in targeting women and children just so long as they’re Jewish or Christian.  They are not only intolerant of the freedoms we take for granted — speech and religion — but they are polygamous, treat their women as chattel and encourage their children to achieve martyrdom as suicide bombers.  Moreover, so-called honor killings are part of what passes for their culture.

Please read it all. :)

Love that ender:

I understand that civilized societies are expected to worry about the deaths of women and children.  But in civilized societies, parents don’t raise their youngsters to be suicide bombers, they don’t elect their leaders from the ranks of a terrorist group and they certainly wouldn’t dance in the street when 3,000 innocent Americans were incinerated on 9/11.

One poster reminded us about King David nearly 3000 years ago:

Those who hate me without reason
outnumber the hairs of my head;
many are my enemies without cause,
those who seek to destroy me.
I am forced to restore
what I did not steal.

Psalm 69:4

Frost/Nixon film is an Ad Hominem Attack on Nixon

The movie “Frost/Nixon” is another good example of Hollywood damning historical accuracy for historical revisionism to suit its “proud” but appallingly liberal bias. I enjoyed reading this Big Hollywood article by Geoff Shepard, “Lies, Damn Lies and Dramatizations”. Geoff Shepard worked in the Nixon administration and knew more about what was going on in the politics of the Watergate Scandal and Washington, DC when Nixon was President.

I was too young to remember the Watergate Scandal and when I was in the public school, was told biased lies and revisionism surrounding Nixon in association with the Watergate Scandal, and ignoring Nixon’s other notable and significant achievements as President. Until I was at Gallaudet, I learned more of the inside story – all dirty politics and revenge schemes by the Democrats – regarding the scandal that brought down Nixon. It was quite an eye-opener and this was two years before Nixon died in 1994. It is a damn shame that 15 years later, there is people who still hated Nixon and continue to foster the hate with the manifestation of a propaganda film, full of inconsistencies, now called “Frost/Nixon”.

Unfortunately, it is one of the five films nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture. I hope it loses.

I won’t be surprised that maybe five years from now, more or less, Hollywood would probably churn out another propaganda/demonization film about George W. Bush. The Oliver Stone-produced film, “W”, is just the first step to lies, damn lies and dramatizations full of inconsistencies from Hollywood. Although, that would be perfect porn for Bush-haters. Give them popcorn and a jar of K-Y Jelly.
