A deaf man named Noah Logue of St. Louis asked the Democratic operatives if he’s going to be punished under “Obamacare” (the so-called America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009) ? Thanks to Gateway Pundit for this blog, a YouTube video of Noah Logue questioning the operatives is included (but no captioning).
Noah’s mother provided a speech to the GP blogger and included it in the blog. Read it all there. Clearly, the man is worried that “Obamacare” would allow the government to determine what kind of special need/equipment/care a disabled person should get instead of a doctor. He pointed out the obviously disturbing choice of words uttered by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel (the brother of Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel) about giving no medical care for “non-participating citizens”, as attributed by GP blogger:
Emanuel, however, believes that “communitarianism” should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those “who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia” (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. ’96).
Whoa. The above is from GP blog: Top Obama Health Advisor Support Ethansia: Wanted Health Care for Non-Disabled Participating Citizens.
In other words, if you’re deaf/Deaf, you’re a non-participating (disabled) citizen and shouldn’t be entitled or provided with any medical care by the government. Seriously, WTF?
Or the language of the AAHCA of 2009 (HR 3200) isn’t exactly clear when it comes to providing medical care and special needs for the deaf and the disabled?
Seriously, we don’t need a socialized health care run by the government in the country nor a greedy industry of HMOs and insurers dictating over doctors and patients. We need to find a real middle ground with a sound health care system to satisfy the American people, including the deaf and the disabled, without breaking the banks or indebting/burdening the people for life. That require courage, common sense, and a real change of perception about ourselves as human beings not totally invulnerable or immune to anything.

Rob,
I do understand your concerns about the government-run health care dictate our doctors’ options. I am with you 100 on this issue.
If the government decide tha the CI surgery is not really necessary. I would give my blessing 100 percent to this kind of approach.
Yes, I had been a Medicaid receptient. I could not get $600 othroptedhic pad for my right leg after the auto accident. I got ended up paying for this kind of expensive pad.
I was assigned first to the real shitty nursing home which I fought vigorously for the right nursing home without undermining my respiratory health. The first choice of nursing home decided by the state for much cheaper option which used excessive artifical fragrance all over the place. I couldn’t breathe at all. The patients at this nursing home were pretty obviously dying and bed-ridden.
My choice for another nursing home is well-run with comfortable settings with my own private room due to my own hypersensitivity to the presence of artifical fragrance and mold.
President Obama is being manipulated and steered by Emmanuel’s brother.
Let’s fight against the socialism medicine!

I spent 2 1/2 months at the nursing home for getting my right leg for the therapy. I would be died in the first nursing home where everyone really get trapped and could not get out of that place.
I also fought with the second nursing home for trying to turn me into the invalid and soak off the insurance money.
The second nursing home found out that I was on Medicaid, not the private insurance and asked me to pack away right away and not let me complete the therapy.
I went home which I could not possibly walk up the stairs to my rental unit on the third floor without holding on the stairway rail.
Worst of all, the apartment management decided to paint the outdoor enamel paint on the stairway rail inside the apartment building as a revenge upon me for refusing to sign the annual lease whenever offered me.
I suffocated and suffocated with the toxic paint smells all days and nights for more than a month. I could not go down without holding to the very wet paint (for one and half week) on the stairway rail.
Pros and cons about private insurance and government-run health entities!

Robert, ACORN, special interest groups, private stockholders and health insurance companies, all respectively linked to the Democratic Party, stands to benefit a lot, I mean A LOT, once after the AAHCA of 2009 is passed and signed into law. It’s a permanent political campaign for the Democratic Party, keeping people tied to government-run health care for as long as possible. That’s why the Republicans are fighting back at this.

Will this allow hearing babies to be medically deaf? Forcing hearing babies to be deaf by severing the inner tubes in the ear?

I’m not sure what you’re suggesting, Deaf Activist. Dr. Emanuel suggested that the AAHCA of 2009 would NOT be provided for the disabled citizens who have irreversible conditions. I would suggest he would need to clarify that perturbing remarks of his.

Please continue the fight. Obama is well aware of what is going on. He’s just passing the buck. And once the new health plan goes through, it will be impossible to change it. We will be stuck with it.

I served my country for 20+ years, I am not disabled by the crap i was exposed to in southwest asia. So your telling me that I am disabled, Obamacare would leave me by the wayside? No way, no how should Obamacare pass, it must be stopped.

Nothing is set in stone yet, Ken. It’s a suggestion from a top health care adviser that Obama has appointed to oversee the implementation of the AAHCA of 2009 should it become law.

I truly hope that the AAHCA of 2009, as it stands does not become law.
