Sudden Deafness on Anyone Ain’t Funny

I absolutely agreed with Mike McConnell’s blog about sudden deafness for anyone not a laughing matter, especially when a sick nutbar like Robert L. Mason actually wished Rush Limbaugh to die on the operating table for a cochlear implant procedure. I saw that comment he made and it was absolutely stupid. If people wish others to die or become deaf suddenly over something so petty or disagreeable, then these people are just no better. Sure, a lot of Deaf people have endured more or less prejudicial or discriminating behaviors from hearing people (that’s still inexcusable), but that does not give the Deaf the right to turn the tables on the “hearies” out of spite and to wish death or sudden deafness on someone they disagree with.

If these Deaf nutbars, like RLM, disagree with what Mike and I have said on this subject, then, in that case, they are just no better than the a-hole hearies who treated the Deaf/deaf/HOH people like nothing.

Keep this in mind: Rush Limbaugh is a role model to those who like him, both deaf and hearing people. If you don’t like him or disagree with him, then either shut up or make your opinion in a proper language, in strong terms, without sounding like a sick nutbar wishing death or sudden deafness on a person like Rush.

I don’t like Keith Olbermann when he’s on TV ranting on like an unhinged, irresponsible moonbat he is but I would not wish any harm or sudden deafness befallen on him.

To RLM, I believe you should retract that statement about Rush and apologize. But I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I agree with what you say… wishing ill on anyone is not nice and immature.

  2. mcconnell Says:

Yes, it’s sad and makes you wonder about their sanity for saying those things. Not normal.

  3. Donald Says:

I agree with you BUT Rush is A#@H%&*.
You and Mike MCcnnell always bully to all Deaf in DeafRead because you and Mike MCconnell think that All Deaf are not normal and VERY low class. I know that you and Mike are VERY smart better than all Deaf. That is Deaf face discrimination. I know that you and Mike MCconell always perfect better than all Deaf. I really do not care about Robert L. Mason. He is not worth it.
Please Stop that is enough. I really mean it.
add forget. Oh right, you and Mike MCconnell are NORMAL…
    Thank you a lot…
    Dan P.

Yup, I totally agree too. My husband lost his hearing totally, just like that, one summer day. One day you hear, the next day you don’t. Not a funny thing at all. Something isn’t right with RLM.

  5. Donald Says:

Why you delete my comment? I TOLD you that Robert L. Mason is not worth it. I did not agree with RLM.
I really do not like about Deaf not normal and Deaf very low class. Oh right, you and Mike MCconnell are VERY normal.
I am blunt you. I wonder Why you DELETE my comment? Please tell me now….. I do not worry about CI and RLM. I do not like RLM. I am Deaf and not education.
Wait, MCconnell said ( Not normal. ) What mean? Deaf Not normal huh
Sorry, I always read in your blog.
    THANK YOU A LOT!!!
    Don,

  6. mcconnell Says:

    Don,

That’s not the “not normal” I am talking about. Nothing to do with deafness but rather a state of mind.

  7. MM Says:

I had bad hearing loss for years, but it was immensely traumatic when over a period of 24 hrs I went profoundly deaf. I suppose you always hope, a better aid or treatement is going to keep what you still have, useless as it was in reality… I even missed noise, any noise, regardless if it made sense to me. State of Mind is VERY tentative, it takes an extremely strong will and personality to live with acquired deafness, but I know peers who can’t get through today, let alone tomorrow without considerable medication, and extensive support.

  8. Donald Says:

    MCconnell,

    (SIGH) Ok,
    Don

  9. Robert Alfred Hawkins Says:

    Enough is enough.

I’m pre-lingually deaf and a native user of ASL. Agreements or disagreements notwithstanding, I can relate to Rush in one aspect of life: change and the desire to remedy a situation.

I’m affected by Ushers Syndrome which is combination of deafness and Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP). I can entirely relate to
“loss” and a desire to remedy this.

American gave us choice to do whatever we wish with ourselves. We have eyeglasses, braces for teeth and more others so what’s the fuss about folks and Cochlear Implants?

This is a fundamental right I admit to have forgotten about when feeling too reserved about Cochlear Implants (which I have no desire for) especially before the advent of Retinal Implants (which I’m scared of) and before the much more sophisticated, less-invasive synthetic (not involving embryos) version of the more known Stem Cell procedures.

Seriously, what’s up with the double standards on both sides?

  10. mcconnell Says:

Double standards on both sides?? Can you elaborate or clarify on what you meant by that?

  11. Under The Hill Says:

To Robert A. Hawkins, this has nothing to do with double standards, it has to do with someone wishing sudden loss of a bodily function or death on somebody else for something disagreeable and be contented about it. It’s unacceptable and inexcusable.

Suppose you had a big and serious disagreement with someone, would you wish harm or death on that person because of it?

  12. KNODAYJARDINO Says:

Unadulterated words, some authentic words man. Made my day!
