Few days ago, many of you were not aware that President Obama has magically transported the United States of America back to 1979. So you all are not living in 2009 but in 1979 when Jimmy Carter was President, the economy was tanking badly, the Islamists in Iran overthrown the government and took several Americans as hostages.
Just recently, former Lt. Governor of Maryland, Michael Steele is elected the new Chairman of the Republican National Committee, defeating Katon Dawson 91 to 77, after five ballots that observers said it is the most contested race in the RNC history. He is the first African-American to assume the Republican National Chairman post.
Steele said, “It’s time for something completely different and we are going to bring it to them,”
Being the opposite of Barack Obama, Michael Steele will certainly bring the GOP into the 21st century, be the new face of an increasingly diverse United States of America and attract Americans of all backgrounds to the republican principles and the American ideals. Congratulations to Michael Steele!
The movie “Frost/Nixon” is another good example of Hollywood damning historical accuracy for historical revisionism to suit its “proud” but appallingly liberal bias. I enjoyed reading this Big Hollywood article by Geoff Shepard, “Lies, Damn Lies and Dramatizations”. Geoff Shepard worked in the Nixon administration and knew more about what was going on in the politics of the Watergate Scandal and Washington, DC when Nixon was President.
I was too young to remember the Watergate Scandal and when I was in the public school, was told biased lies and revisionism surrounding Nixon in association with the Watergate Scandal, and ignoring Nixon’s other notable and significant achievements as President. Until I was at Gallaudet, I learned more of the inside story – all dirty politics and revenge schemes by the Democrats – regarding the scandal that brought down Nixon. It was quite an eye-opener and this was two years before Nixon died in 1994. It is a damn shame that 15 years later, there is people who still hated Nixon and continue to foster the hate with the manifestation of a propaganda film, full of inconsistencies, now called “Frost/Nixon”.
Unfortunately, it is one of the five films nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture. I hope it loses.
I won’t be surprised that maybe five years from now, more or less, Hollywood would probably churn out another propaganda/demonization film about George W. Bush. The Oliver Stone-produced film, “W”, is just the first step to lies, damn lies and dramatizations full of inconsistencies from Hollywood. Although, that would be perfect porn for Bush-haters. Give them popcorn and a jar of K-Y Jelly.
I knew it would come down to it. *sigh*That boat has sailed from Congress this evening, with the votes tallied at 244-188 – all House Republicans and 11 Democrats voted against Obama’s $819 billion stimulus bill. Do not get me wrong, I’m all for job creation, infrastructure maintenance and getting the country out of recession but most of the “porkulus” bill (term is credited to Rush “is right” Limbaugh) is largely beneficial to the Democrats, for their Democratic districts and big-time supporters than to actually get the whole country out of the national downturns. However, the bill still has to go through the U.S. Senate for another vote next week. Chance is there are going to be some serious maneuvers from Republican Senators to get it watered a hosedown. We’ll see if RINOs and Reidans ride in with the magic unicorn to the rescue and turn off the hydrant.
Doug Ross (not that ex-doctor character from “E.R.” TV show, it’s the other Doug Ross) broke down the stimulus porkulus package for us (based on Wall Street Journal Online). Sweet Mary, Mother of God.
$1 billion for Amtrak still redlining for 40 years?
$83 billion for welfare recipients whose job is not to have a job at all?
$50 million for National Endowment of the Arts so an artist wanted to pee on a canvas and call it art?
What’s this $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects? We have scientists laying traps to capture, chip, and cage wild carbons into the zoos and have them demonstrate for the curious public?
$600 million on new vehicles for the US government in spite of $3 billion were spent on them last year? Damn these pesky gremlins causing havoc on Uncle Sam’s vehicles!
$400 million to keep the Goracle and his global warming minions happy?
And where’s my $1 zillion gravy train? You promised me, Obama! Where was your bipartisanship spirit?
Good Lord. I feel really sorry for future American generations having to pay their hard-earned ameros to the government for the Obamessiah’s glorious porkulus bill.
Addendum: Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) proposed a new bill, “the Rangel Rule” – if become law would spare the horror of Americans from being charged with interest and penalties on back taxes owed to the IRS. Charlie Rangel and Timothy Geithner are really inspiring Americans to avoid paying back taxes and interest. Equality for all! Hope’n'Change!
For several years, I have criticized the Presidents of the United States on some policy issues, actions or principle matters: Carter, Reagan, Bush the elder, Clinton, Bush the younger and their administrations. Now, it’s Obama and his administration.
As a white, deaf American Republican and a conservative, I do not always view these Presidents as any better than the rest of America just because they’re white, privileged and have all sort of connections and networks at their disposals. Nonsense. The Presidents are human beings who had been granted extraordinary powers by the wills of the American people and the U.S. Constitution. They achieved successes and they made mistakes on the job. They have been praised and slammed by all sides. The Democrats praised Reagan and slammed Clinton in some cases, the Republicans praised Clinton and slammed Bush (both men) in the others. Conservatives, liberals and independents always put the Presidents and their administrations in their line of the fire, figuratively speaking, when it comes to the matters of governing and directing the nation to where it would goes to. That is what makes America great! To dissent is patriotic! I am very proud to be an American.
Mishka Zena, in my last blog about the 130-tons of trash left by swooned-over Obama supporters at the Mall, you accused me of being racist for criticizing President Obama. *tsk-tsk* While I accepted your criticism, I really do not appreciate that “racist” term you’d thrown at me. Nowhere in my blog or my comments implied anything of “racist” nature. You were just grasping at straws, Mishka. Below, please view my vlog to you as well as anyone who think that criticizing or dissenting President Obama is racist.
I incline to agree with him, Mishka. Obama’s race/skin-color is irrelevant to me. It’s the contents of his character and his politics/beliefs that matter to me; in some cases, concerned me. I respect him as a husband, a father and a human being, but when it comes to having extraordinary powers granted by the wills of the American people and the U.S. Constitution, he has yet to earn my respect and trust. It’s quite a tall order.
Here I am hoping for Michael Steele to be the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, going against Ken Blackwell and other candidates. You know, I was not a fan of Ken Blackwell when he was Ohio’s Secretary of State and I did not vote for him in his gubernatorial election in 2006 (Democrat Ted Strickland won that one). I did not vote for him because he’s a black Republican, I voted against him on the basis of his past performance, character, and one very dumb thing in March 2006.
All in all, Mishka Zena, I would appreciate the apology. I hope you and any Obama supporter will learn from this never to throw around the “racist” card at anybody who would be criticizing or dissenting President Obama and his administration and the policies they would set forth to “repudiate or repair” Bush’s legacy in America. Take it from me, it is time to wise up about your favorite President and not get too swooned over or dazzled easily. He’s the President of the USA, not a rock star or an actor.
Does putting the proverbial horse before the proverbial cart ring any bell to you?
Representative Roscoe Bartlett (R) of Maryland’s 6th District is old enough to remember FDR and the Great Depression. In a meeting between President Obama and the House Republicans yesterday over a stimulus bill, Rep. Bartlett imparted this gem:
“Mr. President, I probably come at this from a slightly different perspective. I remember when FDR beat Hoover in 1932. So I remember the Great Depression very well. I don’t remember any of the many government programs affecting the course of the Depression. Government programs didn’t work then, I don’t know why we think they would work now. Mr. President, I think our obsessive borrowing has fully mortgaged my kids and my grandkids. Now we’re working on mortgaging my two great-grandkids. Mr. President, I think it’s more than a little bit selfish to try to solve our economic problems which we created by burdening future generations yet to be born.”
His speech has gotten a standing applause from fellow House Republicans in front of President Obama.
Bravo to Rep. Bartlett! For imparting a remembered wisdom to the man who is pushing for a very expensive mortgage for future Americans, something that could exceed borrowing/spending two-three times more than what President Bush had spent on in his 8 years presidency and triple the national deficit.
The origin of the word, mortgage, is based on two Old French words put together: morte and gage.
Whoa. To Obama’s hearing and Deaf supporters who attended the Inauguration Day at Washington, D.C., nice going! Leaving that much trash at the Mall is truly mind-boggling. 100 tons of trash! DCRepublicans blog has something to say and ask about what happened on Jan. 20th below (I would strongly suggest you all to click on the link below to see the pictures and two videos yourself):
“More than any Fourth of July, more than any event we’ve seen,” Park Service spokesman William Line said.
The detritus included handwarmer packets, bottles, food, newspapers, blankets, gloves, coolers and a table or two, in addition to items bought from street vendors.
“They left behind Obama hats, Obama bags, Obama socks,” said Mafara Hobson, spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D). “People left behind a lot of trash. A lot of it was the vendors along the parade route, too.”
Reflecting from what had happened to the U.S. economy last year, these top five factors below are what really caused the Great Crash of 2008. Note these factors have culminated from mid-1990s, in spite of Bush’s insistence on tax cuts in 2001 and onward, as he hoped for, would lead to a gradual reversal of market recession and that was all before the 9/11 attacks. Unfortunately, from that tragic day, the war on terror and Iraq have upended Bush’s long-term economic plans to a point. Although, Bush was blamed for poor economic planning in his first term, however, the real culprit was Congress, notably Democrats, that had repeatedly stalled Bush on tax cut plans – which would lead to boosting long-term investments in the U.S. economy and job sectors, emphasize on the “long term”. Nevertheless, that no longer matter now as Bush is out, Obama is in. Onward to the real causes of the Great Crash of 2008 below:
5 – The failure of the government regulators to keep watch on the stock markets and financial firms/banks.
4 – Horrible financial management by many top financial firms and banks.
3 – The mainstreamed media’s overhyped, overblown and confidence-eroding coverage of the US economy, all this to benefit those who wanted to see the US economy to fail and make gains from it.
2 – The FreddieMac & FannieMae lending debacles and the Congress’ failure to tackle them on.
1 – Pure, selfish greed that took precedence over the benefits of free market system/capitalism and badly screwed up the economy in the process.
That summed it all up.
If you say I am wrong on all, please comment. I’m all “eyes”.
The 8 years Presidency of George W. Bush has finally come to end with class, notwithstanding disappointments and tough decisions made in the two terms. His successor, Barack H. Obama, has shown respect and camaraderie toward his predecessor, the man whose name will be forever synonymous with three historic events: the 9/11/01 attacks and the global war on terror, the invasion and occupation of Iraq and the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in 2005. However, as Obama is settling himself as the 44th President of the United States today, George W. Bush will goes down as the President who gave America a highly inspired motivation to seek change and restore America’s place in the world by electing Barack Obama. Being so widely disliked by many, it’s a hell of a motivation.
Funny, it’s the job that motivated Bush to do what he had to do according to his firm convictions, not Bush himself. He respects the office and the responsibilities that it come with. He even kept Vice President Cheney and his powerful ambitions in check. He never made it too personal, otherwise, Chavez of Venezuela, Jong-Il of North Korea or Ahmadinejad of Iran would be joining Saddam Hussein on Bush’s hit list.
For me, today has been a day of apprehension and aspiration for the future as I’d watched Obama sworn in by Chief Justice Roberts at 12:05 pm.
For the last 7 years (beginning with the 9/11 attacks), I have been carefully watching, assessing and judging Bush’s actions and decisions: some were right, some were wrong, and some were necessarily tough, however controversial or harsh these may be. For all its purposes and intents that he had done as President of the U.S. and leader of the free world, I still come to the same conclusion, as I had been saying for 7 years: history will vindicate George W. Bush.
In time, we will know and rest our cases. For now, history is being made today. Enjoy it while you can. Tomorrow’s a whole different new world, another day of apprehension and aspiration while Obama is President, for the next four years.
For their non-stop, unseemly, worshipful, overwhelmingly biased coverage in favor of Barack Obama, the winner of the 2008 Idiotarian Award just has to be … our self-appointed guardian of information, the Mainstream Media and its mask of phony impartiality.
To the Mainstream Media (CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC/MSNBC, NYT, WashPo, LATimes, ChicagoTimes, etc.), outstanding job for being a megaphony and for covering Obama’s precious gluteus maximus last year. I am sure that the MSM is very much looking forward to be the Propaganda Media for the Obama administration this year. Objective, impartial journalism is sooooo, like, last year and asking hard, uncomfortable questions is, like, unacceptable for the Obamessiah, right, MSM?
So, okay, let’s give Obama time to practice with his training wheels before we take them off by the year’s end, hmm?
