But if Obama demands and pulls out the troops too early and if bloodshed results in Iraq, it will be entirely Obama's fault and not that of Bush. I think you would find Iraqis to be more realistic and optimistic of the future as long as there are US troops nearby in the region. Bush deserved the credit for sticking with the Rice-Petraeus plan and delivered on them. I would suggest, Jared, to read up of Yon's blogs on his journalistic tours of duty with the US troops to gain real, on-the-ground perspective, unlike most reporters holing up at highly-guarded hotels and only venture out to BS-reporting the situations and quickly tuck their tails back to their comfy, safe hotels.
