One of these days, AGBAD could seriously brand Deaf/ASL activists as “extremists” promoting an ideologically-based “violence” and radicalization, only in form of free speech and criticism against AGB.org. See this video below, implying that YouTube.com could be closed due to a possible passage of H.R.1955, – although the title suggested a sensationalist attempt to garner people’s attention to the video. So crank up your sound speaker system for the upbeat musical track.
Now, don’t get me wrong. YouTube is not closing as of the moment, as far as I’m concerned, H.R. 1955 is still not being discussed on the Senate floor as of yet. But it could be slipped into a companion bill soon, possibly a budget package or spending bill, as a way of covering its track toward its passage by the Senate and for the President’s signature (unless he is compelled to veto it). I’m 100% against this H.R. 1955 because it could spell the end of free speech and the First Amendment.
Moreover, if my hunch is correct, the initial concern is that if ADA Restoration Act of 2007 would not be passed, due to mounting pressures from corporations, human resources organizations and uninformed critics, many people with legitimate disabilities, including the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, could be stuck with a weakened ADA of 1990 and facing little prospects to have good-paying jobs and better living opportunities. It may create anger, frustration and, if I may daresay, an eventual radicalization among people with disabilities against the government and corporations unsympathetic and indifferent to their plights.
We shall see.

If this bill has pass, then revolution will come in America. The rich people keep sending bills to protect government, but it against our constitution protect the people from government. They want to change that to protect the government and people stay quiet for rest of their lives. With this bill, the rights we have in constitution will be denied. We forgot that we the people control the government. It didn’t happen right now. The government is controlling us. Its wrong and this bill is complete wrong!

Don’t let the opposition smear us with false propaganda. There’s a total night-and-day difference between legitimate civil disobedience compared to that other stuff being mentioned.
We can stand up tall, knowing that we’ve done exactly the right thing, and nobody can make the smears and/or lies stick.
Don’t be intimidated into accepting injustice.

Oh yes, I totatly agreed with BR’s comments. Please don’t worry it because there are many Deaf people having their savvy political experiences plus Hearing allies.

To David, We’ll see how the influence extend that far enough to stop the passage of an illogical law, which is, basically, asking for more troubles from the people.

*chuckles* The recent backlash from the deaf American community against the AgBAD do not qualify as the ideological-attack violence.
We never threat the AgBAD with anything except the NAD’s firm response to the AgBAD in criticizing the current AgBAD Prez’s questionable tactics.
David Ennis and BR are real qualms of widsom!

I’m not implying anything, RLM. It’s a probability that one of these days, AGB org may have enough of constant negative criticism and backlashes from the deaf activists and decide to brand them as “extremists” under the new law based on HR 1955, if that ever happen. I’m hoping it won’t and common sense prevails.
AGB org is bigger than NAD, have more money, more members and more clouts. As an organization, AGBAD is determined to protect its reputation, standing and the legacy of the man himself, at any cost.
Your comment/insight here is always welcome, RLM.
