Deaf Democrats vs. Deaf Republicans

Let the battle of the blogs commence! The Deaf Democrats and Deaf Republicans blogs, that is. It’s the election season and who is going to be the next President of the United States of America? Clinton? McCain? Obama? Giuliani? Edwards? Thompson? Paul? Kuci*cough-cough*nich? Have news about candidates coming to your location soon? Are you involved in any candidate’s campaigning activities?

Have a favorite Democratic candidate and why you’re supporting that candidate? Let Christine Buchholz and Vikee Waltrip know anyway and they’ll be happy to let you blog on that!

I’m very curious about the deaf/hoh community’s reactions and considerations of these candidates for President. Make it short, make it long, make your opinion interesting or juicy! C’mon, don’t hold back and wait until November. Now is the time for change.

Or maybe Bush might cancel the whole election and make himself el Presidente for life.

Rob’s brief no. 1:
Apple introduced thinnest Mac laptop: MacBook Air. Impressive ho-hum and the cost is ridiculous. What else is real news? I’m still expecting a smaller Apple product like an affordable MacMini version of laptop, supposedly in the works. The news about the iTunes Movie rentals is quite a disappointment to me (new releases come out 30 days after the DVD release?! WTF?!).

Rob’s brief no. 2:
Another billions dollars write-off from Citi and the fact the extremely wealthy Arabs are riding into the rescue of the failing American financial institutions is worrisome to me. I’m concerned there could be uncomfortable strings attached to the “rescue” by the Arabic investors, particularly the money coming from sovereign wealth funds.

Rob’s brief no. 3:
Her name was Lisa Gherardini del Giocondo. So it wasn’t Leonardo da Vinci in drag for a self-portrait painting of Mona Lisa, after all. About time the identity of the mysterious woman is finally revealed.

Rob’s brief no. 4:
Ruh-roh. Superbug strain is founded to pass around by gay men. The gay plague, part two? However, athletes in professional, collegiate and high-school sports are being afflicted by the same kind of strain as well. Learn the facts about MSRA and how can you prevent it.

Rob’s brief no. 5:
Really liked the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV two-part episodes last night and Sunday night. When the news came out in 2006 about a TV show spinning off from the Terminator films about Sarah Connor and her young son, the future messiah of mankind, John Connor fighting against Skynet and the machines it sent to kill him, a lot of Terminator fans went “apeshit” angry about it. However, over the time, as the series’ production went into effect with all the cast members, reports of positive news and blogs generated keen interest in it and the fans’ anger was toned down. The first two episodes of TSCC went pretty well and earned high ratings. A fan blog about TSCC. It might be the best antidote to this Writers’ Strike-affected TV season and a decent replacement for “24″. We’ll see how TSCC turn out and don’t expect the Big Oak to make a special guest appearance anytime soon.

For those who have never heard of or seen“The Terminator”, I highly recommend the first movie, the best of all, and it helped made Arnold and a certain James Cameron the biggest names in Hollywood ever since.
