Obama-NOI still connected?

In the past, Senator Obama claimed that he renounced the anti-Semitic, pro-Islamist views of the Nation of Islam, the racist organization equivalent of the KKK, and yet, according to this potentially explosive blog, an Obama insider have come out and declared that Obama is still linked to the Nation of Islam and have employed members of NOI on Obama’s campaign.

I’m quite surprised by this exposure. I’m even more surprised that a powerful pro-Israel lobby, the AIPAC, have been donating money to the Obama campaign while the members of the NOI are on Obama’s campaign staff and even funded it. What the hell is going on with this ambivalent political connections to Obama?

Is Barack Obama the Manchurian agent for the Islamist movement to conquer the United States of America? Is he pulling a Kim Philby act on the uninformed, ignorant American voters? :(

This may not bode well for the American and Jewish voters who have high hopes for “change” from Barack Obama.

Addendum: Just glanced at my bookcase and saw an old book that I had for many years, it was given to me as a birthday gift. The Master Spy by Philip Knightley. What a great true story about Kim Philby and how he fooled the entire British and American intelligence agencies by not being a spy for the Soviet Union and worked his way up to almost becoming the future head of a counter-intelligence espionage unit, then managed to defect to the Soviet Union after revelations proved that he was the double-crossing agent for the USSR. The damages he had done with the British and American intelligence communities were devastating and drove James Jesus Angleton insane with paranoia, forcing him to establish a highly restrictive series of protocols in investigating and weeding out any mole within the CIA and other intelligence services, a standard procedure still in use today.

When you watch the TV show, “24″, with the CTU team working with Jack Bauer on stopping terrorists, they were doing the Angleton’s paranoid procedures in looking out for moles and spies inside the CTU. Another good example is that great film, The Good Shepherd, loosely based on the Philby-Angleton spy/counter-spy affair.

Update on TU24 Asteroid: Level One Threat

Just an update on the latest news about the 2007 TU24 asteroid to swing by Earth tomorrow. Level one has been raised for the severe risk of electromagnetic disturbance. However, the chance of being impacted by it is none. Although, a former NRO spy satellite, about the size of a school bus and weighted 10 tons, is about to hit somewhere on Earth in the next month or early March.

According to NASA, the 800 feet-long TU24 asteroid will:

….pass within 1.4 lunar distances, or 538,000 kilometers (334,000 miles), of Earth on Jan. 29 at 12:33 a.m. Pacific time (3:33 a.m. Eastern time).

That’s after midnight. I’ll be sleeping through. Will the alarm clock wake me up by then and still have electricity working? If nothing else happen, then it is all much ado about nothing and life goes on as usual. ;)

We shall see. It’s also curious that President Bush’s last State of the Union is tonight instead of the usual Tuesday or Wednesday SotU address as he had in the past. Hmm….

UPDATE 1.29.2008: TU24 asteroid have passed on by Earth and there’s no disturbance in the Force… err…well, you get the idea. ;)

Obama Won South Carolina

It’s official: Obama beat Clinton in the South Carolina primary tonight. This is a significant victory for Obama, as it could pave the way for his future winnings while Clinton could still beat him one way or another in the campaign battleground states. McCain won the South Carolina primary nearly two weeks ago. The next state to watch is the Florida primary for the Republican candidates in few days. Romney is likely to win it but the media predicts a McCain victory.

According to CNN coverage, women voted overwhelmingly for Clinton but the blacks outnumbered them for Obama, securing the victory for him. The oft-repeated message was simply loud and clear: it’s the economy, stupid.

Rob’s brief no. 1: The price of being jet-setting wealthy over the planet
David Beckham, one of the world’s most recognizable and wealthiest athletes on the planet, have the largest carbon footprint in the planet, as blogged by Ecorazzi (originally reported by MSN Fox Sports). Seem to me that David Beckham is not alone in this, as there are many other jet-setting wealthy peoples and major corporations going from place to place spending their money at whim all the times. When you add up all the carbon footprints from them, you get the idea how much they can pollute the planet and not have a care about damaging the environment. You can sure be glad all the average people and low-income folks doesn’t produce that much carbon footprints like the wealthy people and corporations can do frequently. Huh.

Even Bono of U2 admitted to Al Gore at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: “I’m not just a noise polluter, but a diesel sucking, methane producing, Gulfstream flying sinner.”

Heh.

Rob’s brief no. 2: Bush’s final State of the Union Address
On Monday, Jan. 28th will be President Bush’s final State of the Union address. Check your local TV listing for the broadcasting time. It is also noteworthy that this is the first time he is to broadcast his SotU address on Monday night instead of the customary Tuesday or Wednesday primetime like he had many times in the past. Make you go hmm, why Monday?

Flashback to my old blog about President Eisenhower in his farewell address to the nation:

This quote below is the best known part of President Dwight Eisenhower’s Farewell Address to the Nation on 17th of January 1961, often repeated and pointed out by people alarmed by the growing converging relationship between the military and the corporations since the end of World War II:

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

However, that is not the famous warning from the late President for my blog. It was this other, largely ignored warning – below – from the same Farewell Address, Eisenhower declared,

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

Publicly, to this day, the military-industrial complex is growing larger and stronger, bringing many employments and revenues to the communities and cities nationally, even branching out to other countries as well. Detractors have been decrying this unwarranted but completely converged relationship between the military and the corporations. However, the scientific-technological elite have quietly expanded its reaches into private and corporate interests and slowly attached itself to the public policy since 1920s, though largely unchecked and ignored over the decades. Fortunately, it was President Eisenhower who saw this growing, unwarranted and quiet acquisition of the public policy at all levels (I do mean ALL levels) by a scientific-technological elite with hidden agendas unknown to the public.

It was, perhaps, necessary for President Eisenhower to include that subtle warning to future generations of the ascendancy of a Scientific Dictatorship.

Rob’s brief no. 3: The Children of 1919
Had a great read of the TCS Daily interview with David Andelman about his book, A Shattered Peace: Versailles 1919 and the Price We Pay Today. I have say this many times in few discussion boards in the Internet or with someone in the past, that all the problems and circumstances we have in the world, including the war in Iraq and the conditions in the Middle East, began with the disastrous and draconian decisions made by the victorious powers in the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. President Woodrow Wilson’s 14 Points vision for peace, then viewed as a better, if entirely naive alternative to the revenge-minded provisions put forth by the Allied powers, would have lay the foundations and frameworks for a better world and would have avert another world war less than 20 years later. Even Adolf Hitler have long railed against the Treaty of Versailles provisions toward Germany in most of his speeches during his rise to power and leveled harsh criticism against Britain and France for pushing the “sham” treaty to the letter.

Read it all of the interview.

Shame On You! Democratic Race Get Dirtier

That’s what Bill Clinton said to a CNN reporter at the end of a testy press conference between Clinton and the media. The saga of Obama-Clinton mean-spirited campaign drama is about to reach its nadir before the on-set of the 2008 South Carolina Democratic primary this Saturday. I’m taking a neutral, observer position on this affair and I’m in no way endorsing any of the Democratic candidates, only taking in the presumption of what would become the decisive factor of the whole Democratic campaign to gain back the White House from the Republicans. For sure, the Clinton-Obama feud is already creating a genuine division within the rank and file of the Democratic Party, to the point when the entire Democratic campaign to win the White House could really come undone, on the account of female Democrats being the majority and the black Democrats the minority. However, some moonbats think the feud is cleverly concocted by Karl “Boy Genius” Rove himself. *sigh*

I can see Karl Rove fiendishly pulling strings and calling in old favors somewhere in an undisclosed bunker next to Vice Pres. Dick Cheney. *eyes rolled up*

With due respect, Barack Obama do have certain appeals to peoples beside the African American community, though he’d deftly and gradually crafted himself as the 21st century version of Abraham Lincoln since he made his first public appearance at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 and the Dems were wowed by him, especially among the black Democrats. They saw hope and glory come alive right out of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. Hey, did that happened already when Colin Powell was widely speculated and prodded to run against Bill Clinton in 1996? Whatever happened to that distinct black Republican? Nevertheless, people watching the Clinton-Obama campaign drama heading into the South Carolina primary should bring to mind the memory of a very testy campaign drama between Bush and McCain early in 2000 in that same state primary; particularly when either the Bush campaign team or McCain’s political rivals made a false suggestion that McCain fathered an African-American baby out of wedlock. With that false news reaching throughout the Republican Party in South Carolina and the independent voters , McCain’s campaign momentum over Bush was stopped cold. From that 2000 S.C. primary outcome, Bush cruised onto getting the Republican Party nomination for President and eventually the White House.

So watching the South Carolina primary this Saturday, the real decisive factor of winning it out of this testy campaign drama would be: who blinks first? Clinton? Obama? That’s why Bill Clinton being worried and angry about all the negative focus on his wife as especially noteworthy, for the crucial key Democratic votes in South Carolina hold the key to victory for either Hillary R. Clinton or Barack Obama.

Whoever wins the 2008 South Carolina primary will, for sure, win the Democratic nomination for President handily. At least, the loser may still have a fighting chance in other primaries.

We shall see this Saturday. ;)

Rob’s Pros/Cons on GOP Candidates

Just blogged for the DeafRepublican2008 blog, my pros and cons on the current Republican candidates. Head over there please.

Rob’s brief no. 1: Heath Ledger dead
I’m truly shocked by the death of the actor Heath Ledger. At the age of 28. So young in his rising stardom. I was looking forward to his performance as the Joker in the second Batman movie this summer. Overdose on sleeping medication? Hmm…

Rob’s brief no. 2: Chill, man!
Rep. Jim Clyburn tells ex-President Bill Clinton to “chill” out.

Rob’s brief no. 3: Oscar nominees
Just announced today, the nominations for the Oscar. My pick for Best Picture? “There Will Be Blood”. I haven’t seen it yet, so I’m just guessing.

Rob’s brief no. 4: Tom Brady in cast!
Oh, no, Tom! You’re in cast and limping! The Giants will be “guaranteeing” a Super Bowl victory for the next two weeks of talk.

Oh, Tom, you clever devil, you! ;)

Rob’s brief no. 5: 2007 TU24
Getting closer to Earth, seven days to go. Don’t panic yet until NASA says so.

Rob’s brief no 6: PS3 price coming down rumor?
Over at this blog reported a rumor that a $299 Playstation3 console would be announced next week? It means that Blu-Ray is winning the format war against HD-DVD? We’ll see.

Rob’s brief no. 1: Tomorrow’s crash time?
George Ure seem to think there seems to be a global-synchronized collapse of the world’s stock markets occurring today but tomorrow, when the US stock markets open, will there be all hell breaking loose?

Holy Cow! “All countries in the world are suffering from the slowdown in growth in the United States, all countries in the developed world,” IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn declared, “The situation is serious.”

Rob’s brief no. 2: Geo-strategic posturing, Russian-style?
The Russians have gotten bolder than ever before, by putting up a show of naval and air forces in the northern Atlantic Ocean region on the notion of a joint exercise. What’s more disturbing is the inclusion of the Bear and the Blackjack strategic bombers (read: they are well-known nuclear bombers) in this “exercise”.

Something’s up.

Rob’s brief no. 3: Life After People
Tonight on the History Channel at 9 pm (EST): Life After People. Check it out. Based on Alan Weisman’s book, The World Without Us. I have not read the book yet but will do when it comes out in trade paperback. I still have faith in humanity’s endurance and survival for as long as possible, God willing.

MLK Day’s Recognition

Today is Martin Luther King’s Day, in the honor of the American civil right movement achievements, three people should have equally, highly deserved recognition for their incredible achievements in inspiring and influencing the African American civil right movement and Dr. King himself. While we recognize MLK’s efforts to end racial segregation in America with his charisma and his compelling, stirring speeches, Dr. King could not even do all by himself without the inspiration, influences and roles of the very three people who moved mountains before him:

Booker T. Washington for his far-sightedness and his realistic approaches to combating racial segregation by demonstrating patience, firmness, practicality, frugality and hard work during a period which the KKK was rising in height of its power and popularity. Many African-American activists attributed his standards for their efforts in the face of adversity, hostility and ignorance.

Asa Philip Randolph. Martin Luther King could not have done anything without Randolph and his behind-the-scene, as well as the forefront, role in shaping and leading the early American civil non-violence movement. The famous 1963 March on Washington would not have been made possible without Randolph and his people working behind the scene.

Charlotta Spears Bass, a remarkable woman ahead of her time. The first black American to own and operate a newspaper, leading efforts to end racial discrimination and inspiring a generation of black actors, entertainers and businesspeople who lent their talents to the African American civil right causes.

It’s time to give due and deserving recognition to them.

Rob’s brief no. 1: AGB’s pholosphy? What’s dat?
Huh? Pholosphy? Is that mean lacking philosophy or an inability to use a spell-checker? ;)

Rob’s brief no. 2: Bin Laden’s boy wanted to be peace ambassador to the West
Osama bin Laden, the spiritual leader of al Qaeda network, have many children, among them a certain Omar Osama bin Laden who once trained with al Qaeda terrorists under his father’s watch but left the network in 2000. He wanted to be the peace ambassador to the West by riding a horse across North America in a horse-race endurance campaign for peace.

It’s about changing the ideas of the Western mind. A lot of people think Arabs especially the bin Ladens, especially the sons of Osama are all terrorists. This is not the truth,” Omar told the AP last week at a cafe in a Cairo shopping mall.

Hm. Don’t you mean changing the perception of the Western mind toward the Arabs, Omar? I know that not all Arabs or Muslims are terrorists out to destroy the United States, just as I know that not all Christians are out to murder abortion doctors nor all Jews are out to take over the world nor all atheists out to destroy all religions. Frankly, I’m not sure what to make of Omar’s true intentions when he clearly suggested that, as if he’s implying a desire to change the ideas of the West to become favorable toward Islam? Last time I checked, the Western mind is always about pluralism, reason and democracy. All three are practically non-existent in Islam.

Rob’s brief no. 3: Electile Dysfunction

An old good friend of mine from Gallaudet was kind enough to send me an amusing food for thought: electile dysfunctionthe inability to become aroused over any of the choices for president put forth by either party in the 2008 election year.

Electoral apathy anyone? However, I’m not suffered with it. My choice for President is hovering between Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney. Still, my preferred choice will always be Ronald W. Reagan. Yes, I know he’s dead but… still. ;) Which bring to mind a subject of the next Robrief below.

Rob’s brief no. 4: You could live up to 800 years someday?
Scientists at the University of Southern California revealed studies shown that by manipulating and reprogramming yeast’s cells to age beyond its age-limitation with no side effects. This would hold promises that scientists could one day to re-program human cells to reverse the accelerated aging effect and allow humans to live up to 800 years.

Really, give me one good reason why anyone would wanted to live up to 800 years? I have many reasons, for myself. ;)

Rob’s brief no. 6: The Democratic Party’s original mascot was the TIGER!
Behold! The tiger was the original mascot of the Democratic Party, not the donkey. Love that Adlai Stevenson’s quote at the end of the slideshow. How true is it to this day. :P

Today’s my birthday. Like I care. Let me enjoy my cupcake with a lit candle and sing happy birthday to myself.

2007 TU24 to wallop Earth end of January?

Holy sh!t. Time to goes underground or get out your diesel-powered generator?
